Welcome to the St. Louis Chapter of IABC.

We are a group of

  • Young/old
  • New/experienced
  • Male/female

professional communicators that are dedicated to advancing the profession and our own careers. We’ve found we’re better at both when we work together.

The chapter offers monthly professional development opportunities, usually through lunch programs that offer networking as well as guest speakers.  We also offer workshops and seminars from time to time.

The Bronze Quill Awards, sponsored annually by the chapter, recognize the best communication efforts in the region. Judged by other IABC chapters around the nation, a Bronze Quill is quite a feather to have in your cap.

Members can use the chapter’s Resource Library to get in-depth information about a variety of topics. The library contains books, manuals, presentations and tapes from national and international sources. Topics include everything from “Restructuring and Downsizing” to  “Establishing Your Own Consulting Business.”

Volunteering with the chapter is another source of professional development. Improve your professional skills (in special events, marketing, electronic communications, you name it) or advance your management ability by taking on a leadership role.

Our Membership
IABC St. Louis is a broad-based group, with members in external and internal communications and every conceivable discipline. Our members work in corporations and not-for profits. People new to the profession will be comfortable with us: About 20 percent of our membership has five years of experience or less. Mid-career professionals will feel at home, too: About 39 percent of the St. Louis chapter membership has more than 15 years of experience.
