Corporate social responsibility, you hear those three words everywhere. Many businesses today are realizing benefits from corporate social responsibility initiatives, with quantified improvements in revenue and market access, productivity, and risk-management. But, what are the hot buttons in business ethics today? What are companies doing to establish sound programs? And, where do we as communicators fit in?

Please join IABC St. Louis on Thursday, February 22 when Steve Lawler, an ethics consultant, will break-down business ethics into three categories:

  • Front Page News - Current trends in what is being covered by journalists with business ethics as part of their beat and how you can prepare.
  • The Right Stuff – What are companies doing to establish solid ethical practices and how you, as a communicator, can help.
  • That’s Why it’s Called a Dilemma – A look at ethical dilemmas faced by business communicators in our area.

Steve Lawler is an organizational psychologist, an Episcopal priest and an officer of the Society of Business Ethics. He has served as an ethics consultant with companies in the United States and Europe, including Monsanto, Pulitzer Publishing and the Danforth Foundation.
